Electric rewire Chelmsford, Maldon, Harlow, Epping, Witham and Brentwood
Ideally you will have a Periodic Inspection Report (PIR) on your property to determine it's condition. If you don't have one then we can provide a Periodic Inspection Report in Chelmsford.
Your electrical system will deteriate over time. Most of the time, if you're lucky, you've moved on and the next owner deals with the electrical problems! But if you're the unlucky one, then we provide full house rewires.
The electrical system consists of cables, light fittings, cooker cables, switches, sockets and a fuseboard or RCD unit. There are several signs that an electrician will look for to indicate the age of your electrical system and whether your property needs rewiring. For example, if you have a cable that is coated in black rubber - it's old. Black rubber casing was phased out in the 1960s.
A cable coated in lead or fabric is even older. Modern cables use PVC insulation. Other signs that you've got an old system: A fusebox with a wooden back, cast iron switches - look nice but they are old, more than one circuit box, round pin sockets, round light switches and electric sockets installed into skirting boards. And if you have a wall mounted light switch in bathroom, you may want to replace that whether you have the whole house rewired or not!
